Garden Bloggers Bloom Day ~ June 2012

The garden is all pinks, shades of purple, lilac and blue and white at the moment and definitely wet.  Hardy geraniums are very much to the fore with astrantias giving them a close run for their money. I took these photos a couple of days ago in the dry wet rather than leaving until today as the forecast was dire. It has started dry but I wonder just how long this happy state of affairs will last. The above collage was made using PicMonkey, which has recently added this facility to its repetoire. It was my first attempt to create a collage using this particular photo editor and it seemed a most user friendly process.

Garden Bloggers Bloom Day is kindly hosted by Carol over at May Dreams Gardens. Do visit and enjoy June flowers from far and wide.

  1. My geraniums are only just coming in to flower, I seem to be behind everyone with most things this year. Torrential rain again overnight here.

  2. The foxgloves look lovely with the raindrops on them. And how I wish I could grow astrantias... that's one advantage of your climate - mild and damp! Hope your weather improves - have a good weekend!

  3. I use Picasa for collages, where I am forced to flip thru random arrangements. Will PicMonkey let me put that picture there, NO, THERE? Going to try it out for my next post.

  5. Only some of my geraniums are out, those in the most light I think (I would normally say 'in the most sun' but as we've hardly had any it must just be the light levels!)

Thanks for the info about picmonkey, am off to investigate now :-)

  9. Lovely, lovely - my sort of plants here. I wasn't quick of the mark in getting photos from my garden before the rain arrived here. Lucky we had a day out on the 14th with lots of blooms to enjoy. Happy GBBD :-D

  10. My favorite colors in the garden! I love the foxgloves; I always think of fairies when I see these blooms. It's too bad we can't re-distribute the rain--we're in dire need of it here. I hope the sun shines soon for you, Anna!

  11. I haven't used PicMonkey. You did a wonderful job, Anna. Pinks and purples are right up my alley and yours are outstanding. I hope you get just enough rain but not too much. Cheers.

  12. Nice collage Anna. Is it a hardy geranium in the bottom right hand corner? And if so do you know it's name?

  13. Feel sure the flowers have done better than ever with all this rain though it has not been easy to get into the gardens to see and appreciate them fully. Your pretty blooming collage surely prove the point though Anna.
p.s.like Diana I downloaded and use Picasa as am just a bit paranoid about altering images online though Picmonkey is much more straightforward

  14. I still have Geranium phaeums in flower and dry weather normally finishes them off by late June...if only!
Will take a look at Picmonkey as I keep seeing collages on blogs and wishing I could do one myself.
