A touch of spring bling for 'A Week Of Flowers' going back to this May with a trio of aquilegias and some bluebells. The first aquilegia is 'Nora Barlow' whilst the other two are nameless seedlings that have appeared in the garden by magic. The bluebells were photographed by himself in one of the woods close to our caravan in Cumbria. With many thanks to Cathy over at 'Words and Herbs' for the perfect excuse to indulge in some photographic floral memories on yet another extremely wet and windy December afternoon. The perfect tonic!
The Aquilegia flowers look as if they were painted but then Mother Nature is the best artist. It's yet another genus of flowers I've been unable to grow.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful Kris. The iris look really healthy and happy and those Leucospermum are enviable! Thanks for joining in! :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, now I have put the wrong comment on your blog Anna! So sorry!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful aquilegias Anna. I haven’t many in my new garden and must remedy that. English bluebell woods have a special meaning for me and I do hope to see them again one day! Thank you for sharing this one. (I think I have cracked it and if I use a different browser I can get my comments through… )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful aquilegias! I grow 'Nora Barlow' as well as a wine-red and a blue Barlow. One can never have too many columbines!
ReplyDeleteAll three aquillegias are so pretty, and really aren't we lucky having bluebells as a wildflower to go and see each spring.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous aquilegias Anna. I'd love to see that field of bluebells in person.
ReplyDeleteNorah Barlow is gorgeous. Anna 😊
