It certainly wasn't as ferocious as the storm of 1987 which luckily didn't have a devastating effect in the north west of England. The Burns Night storm of 1997 was the most ferocious in this neck of the woods when I had to climb over a fallen tree to get home after work.

Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10794392333038962798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12357501.post-30102570109819781702017-10-21T15:56:13.561+01:002017-10-21T15:56:13.561+01:00Oh Rose I'm glad to have reminded you of your ...Oh Rose I'm glad to have reminded you of your grandmother's rose :) Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10794392333038962798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12357501.post-86462874476610392332017-10-21T15:51:40.809+01:002017-10-21T15:51:40.809+01:00Oh you've hit the nail on the head with your d...Oh you've hit the nail on the head with your description of the 'Blush Noisette' roses Jo :) We didn't suffer at the hands of 'Ophelia' but now waiting to see if 'Brian' is as considerate. What I should have said it that whilst each individual stem is long they carry more than one flower bloom. What I've find is that there tends to be just one suitable head at a time for cutting, hence making for a short stem in a vase. I hope that this makes sense :)Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10794392333038962798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12357501.post-45195375311507978462017-10-21T15:28:09.380+01:002017-10-21T15:28:09.380+01:00Thanks Kris. I will check to be on the safe side. There seems to be some confusion over the mint with some sources referring to my mint as a variegated apple mint, whilst others call it pineapple mint. I bought it as apple mint. I should have added the word 'variegata' though after the plant name so will correct my post. Thank you :) xAnnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10794392333038962798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12357501.post-854989854237125102017-10-18T18:29:44.594+01:002017-10-18T18:29:44.594+01:00Let us hope we have a few more sips of wine like y...Let us hope we have a few more sips of wine like yours above Anna.🍷Brian Skeyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04761762507159759619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12357501.post-18965266771831657472017-10-18T07:56:24.623+01:002017-10-18T07:56:24.623+01:00A very pretty and very summery-looking vase today ...A very pretty and very summery-looking vase today Anna. I hope the storm has caused no damage. I remember the storm hurricane of 1987 very well.
