Life In The Slow Lane

D IS FOR ?

DONKEYS !

We came across this delightful duo last week, when we were dallying along the main thoroughfare of the little town of Huelgoat. We were most curious to see who might be using this alternative mode of transport but sadly there was no sign of their human companions.

Do dip into ABC Wednesday where you will find more debate, discussion and digital imagery all about the letter D.

  1. Well that is a very unusual method of transport - especially in a town - though I expect they were just passing through to pick up some donkey food!

  3. Hi Anna~~ A burro duo. Fancy that. The poor fellows look fairly weighed down. Maybe they weren't for riding, just carrying the loot. I wonder if they got tired of waiting and started eating the flowers.

  4. I think they could be the 'get away' donkeys and are involved in a robbery ! OK so I have a vivid imagination.

  5. Great picture. I would have done a double-take too. I wonder why they were there?

  13. I always think of Jesus in Jerusalem. Or Juan Valdez and coffee. Stubbornness.

    Interesting.

  14. Heulgoat is such a sweet little town. We were there last year .... but we didn't get to see any donkeys! (although one campsite we were on did have 3 men on horses come in to camp for the night)

  15. They're very, very sweet. But I want to know why they aren't standing tidily in a parking slot. LOL!
