  1. I've always fancied a little alpine garden in a trough, looks like their's is made in a wooden seed tray, it looks good.

    1. There were plenty troughs as well as the seed tray Jo, which I think was snuck in to display the name of the nursery. I do hope that you get your little alpine garden one of these days.

  2. Love this Anna! Great choice of pic :-)

I'm a past alpine fan and have built many scree rockeries and beds for friends and family. There is just something about this plant group but unfortunately not everyone gets it and they are not generally seen as 'fashionable' which is a great pity. I particularly like seeing the way the alpine societies and nurseries display their plants. I like the wooden seed tray too :-)

    1. Thanks Shirl. Alpines have always fascinated me and I enjoy the opportunity of seeing them close up. Like with everything else though fashion always comes round again :)

  3. Displays like these - I imagine my garden full of the plants. They don't grow, they just fade, they just stay (delightfully) the same as I see them on the stand.

    1. Oh wouldn't that be fantastic Esther - if only you could press a pause button.

  4. I like the chocolate leaved Geranium. I do like Geraniums with magenta flowers.
You were asking about York Gate Garden. One of those reasonably sized gardens you can imagine having yourself - you do a circular walk through a number of differently themed areas. Well worth a visit.

  5. Agree with you about the geranium EG. I have 'Bob's Blunder' which would be too wayward in an alpine trough but it's great for ground cover and flowers over a long period. Thanks for the additional info. on York Gate.

  6. What a great array of textures. That is a very pretty fern - any idea what it is?
