  6. That part of Great Dixter has a special place in my heart. On our first visit these, some 15 years or so back, we had stopped to admire the fig tree, when the great man himself appeared on my shoulder and asked what we thought. I said how amazing the garden was and that we were admiring the years of work to train the fig tree against the wall. "Good good", he said, and shuffled off again, followed by two dachshunds.

  9. Dixter is always so beautiful no matter what time of the year you visit - looks like you had good weather for your day there, Anna - hope you were inspired!

  10. Thanks for all your kind comments. It really was a most fabulous day. My second trip to Great Dixter but hopefully there will be more to come. Just so much to take in! In answer to a couple of you we got there when the garden opened so with a bit of patience managed to get some photos without people :)
