  1. I've just been watching as many white butterflies flitting about the lavender in a neighbour's front garden, they obviously like it.

  3. Wow, that is fantastic, I presume they were getting minerals from the soil or sand under the gravel.

  4. Conferring on which vegetables to lay their eggs on next...? ;-) (Sorry for being so skeptical, but they have devoured so many salad leaves here this year!)Very nice photo though, and a fitting caption!

  6. Oh my gosh - gorgeous! Worth sacrificing the cabbages for!! I had left lots of eggs on my orach plants this year in order to get the butterflies later! Strangely, I only ever see whites, not sure why ...

  8. Glad to see I'm not the only one to be experiencing monster gatherings of the cabbage munchers, which are admittedly really pretty.

  9. Thanks for all your comments which are much appreciated :)

An interesting thought Pauline. We we wondered what they were up to. I took the photo on holiday when we were garden visiting so lots of flowers about though I did not see any cabbages in the vicinity.

Damien, should I want to communicate with you further you have not provided me with any contact details! If you wish to pursue this please email me at thegreentapestry@googlemail.com with some basic information eg details of which organisation you represent, an email address etc.
