  1. I think I can spy Cymbalaria - one of my favourite "wall" flowers. Do you know if it has a common name?

  2. I wonder if the wall was built round the trunk of the tree or if it seeded itself in an existing wall? It's a great feature and well done for noticing it Anna

  3. Love this! Great photo, Anna! It's been such a good year for nasturtiums, mine are going bonkers although, bit by bit, I'm pulling some of them up to make space for bulbs and beans. Such cheerful little plants!

  6. Ha ha, I thought it was going to be a photo of wallflowers, not wall flowers. I love how plants self seed in walls like this, no soil for them. It just shows their determination to grow and survive.

  7. Brilliant image. I noticed the other day that I appear to have a whole section of one of my beds at the plot covered in a green manure of emerging self-sown nasturtiums. Won't be long before a frost sees them off.

  9. Thanks for all your comments. I'm fairly sure that the common name ivy leaved toadflax Cathy and that it was introduced to these shores by the Romans.
