I'm catching up today - going back to late spring/early summer again with a couple of flowers. The first is allium christophii - no words needed. The photo below was taken on a sunny evening.
The second an astrantia - variety unknown and always appreciated by the bees.
Thanks to Cathy over at 'Words and Herbs' for her idea of sharing flower photos this week and in doing so brightening our days.
A lovely choice, Anna, an two of my alltime favourites. The Astrantia suffer a bit here in the South but since I've put them in the potager where they get more water they do well. Best wishes x
ReplyDeleteBoth lovely choices! I do love the delicate astrantias and could gaze into their perfection for a while! Thank you, Anna.
ReplyDeleteOh how I adore both - and terrific photos too! The light on the allium would be hard to beat. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThose are both great choices and photos!
ReplyDeleteI had a few of the same allium but unfortunately they disappeared. I do love astrantia.
ReplyDeleteBoth are absolutely stunning flowers. I love Astrantia. The flowers are so complex and there are so many lovely varieties too. Love the way the evening light is shining on the petals of the allium. :-)
ReplyDeleteLike Annette, they are 2 of my all-time favourites too!
ReplyDeleteAnother two lovely plants and you've captured both well in your photographs Anna.
ReplyDeleteAstrantia puts alliums in the shade!
