The Hanging Gardens

Q IS FOR?

QUIRKY!
Now why does the letter Q always have me in a quandry quivering over what to post? We came across the garden in question earlier this year whilst on holiday in France.

Quick get yourself over to ABC Wednesday now for some quality quotes and quips on the letter Q!

But, in what city did you find this nice wall?

  2. Goodness - a lot of work went into that most interesting wall.

  3. The garden is very quirky but quite original too. Glad you got a shot of it.

  4. And there I was chucking out old plates when I could have stuck them on the wall! Fantastic idea though...

  5. What an interesting use of plates. The owner obviously has a thing about blue!

  6. Lovely way to transform a blank wall! I like the blue theme.

  7. Well, I would say that is Quite a Quirky garden. UniQue in it's own Quaint way.

  8. Really is the very definition of the word quirky.

  9. Great post for the Q Day! What a great wall! Looks like a lot of work went into that one! I love Quirky and that includes Quirky gardens and that one does look like it required a lot of work! Hope your week is off to a great start!

  10. Anna, A fun post - I had to laugh when I noticed the plate on the pillar or post behind the wall. The "artist" just couldn't contain him(her)self!

  16. Quite! I have no Qualms watering those tubs, the plants would Quadruple in size. My terrace would be my Quadrangle. Keep weeding the pots though, otherwise the Quackgrass may get hold. Smart - arse, Moi?

  18. Dear Anna, I always associate that particular blue with the Mediterranean, and feel it adds an exotic touch to the garden. Your example, however, is, perhaps, just a step [ or indeed a plate] too far!!

  19. That's certainly very quirky! All that blue on the white reminds me of Greece. I love how individual gardeners and gardens are.

  20. Sorry to hear about your painful knee Anna - glad nothing serious is the cause. I've been noticing more aches and pains lately, down to wear and tear I'm sure!

This colourful courtyard reminds me of Cordoba. They literally adorn their walls and courtyards with pots, plates and mosaics - very pretty and makes for a creative use of limited space.

Take care of yourself. The garden and lottie can wait for you ...

  21. At first I thought this was the front of a ceramics shop! I love that color of blue. That is one wall that would have me looking for quite a while. So much detail!

  22. This is a quirky garden, but I love all the blue!

Glad to hear your knee is better. I know how hard it is to garden with bad knees, but in my case my knees are just getting old:)

  23. Quirky indeed! Although that much deep blue is a bit too much for me. ;)
