'Most Efficacious In Every Case'
This week I am planting some luscious lily bulbs and looking forward longingly to their lingering fragrance come late summer. I am growing spotty dotty 'Muscadet', watermelon pink 'Robina' which is described as a tree lily, then last but not least tempted by Patient Gardener I am planting the alluring L.A. 'Eyeliner'.
Leap over to ABC Wednesday now for the lowdown on the letter L.

Lillies are one of my favourite flowers. Unfortunately, I'm not always as thrilled with the scent as the bloom. I remember someone buying me some lillies for an occasion and I had to take the vase outside as I could stand the stench of them no longer. I'm pleased to say that it doesn't apply to every Lily though, most of them I love.
ReplyDeleteAh reminds me, I bought some spider lilies that need planting.
ReplyDeleteI hope yours flower profusely!
Lovely lilies and a great choice for the L Day, Anna!! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

These are stunning and I hope yours grow just as well. I have several in different colours that I just planted last year and am hoping they multiply this year.

Hi Anna, what a fabulous photo, I love lillies. I buy these scented ones for the house, but only grow day lillies in the garden as they are the only ones that don't seem to get those pesky lilly beetles.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in my book giveaway draw. I am going to get a friend to pick a name out of the hat. I think a link from your blog would be nice rather than a tweet, thank you for that.

Beautiful and LOVELY choice for L.
ReplyDeletePlease come and see the Lamborghini at my page.
What a beautiful lily, - I was out poking about in the garden to see if any of the corms were showing a grand awakening, but not yet, - sigh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely lily! Good luck! I wonder if it is as fragrant as some of the others?
ReplyDeleteLuscious and lovely Anna - the lilies that is (though you might be too)Have dug out last year's from storage only to find them sprouting and making babies so in haste have potted them as is. Seeing yours, now tempted to buy more

I just love lilies. I have them in my lounge on a regular basis - despite the pollen. I also grow them in the garden and in pots. The perfume is fantastic, some people cant abide it. I will take a look at Muscadet, it is one I have not grown.
ReplyDeleteI love the scent of lilies and often have them as cut flowers in the house. I always grow them in pots for the patio and look forward to them blooming. I have some Muscadet - they are beautiful.
