  1. That is a lovely colour - how long from seed?

    1. Thanks Sue. There's no date on the label other than July but I have an inkling that this has taken three years to flower. It came from fresh seed ordered from Ashwood Nurseries.

  2. And isn't she a beauty? That flower was worth waiting for.

  3. That is a cracker Anna - you often read that hellebore seedlings can be rather mucky looking affairs but this is contradictory to that information.

    1. Yes the seedlings are sometimes less than desirable Angie but sometimes you get lovely surprises. It's a case of 'win some, loose some' with a long wait attached to it :)

  4. Beautiful! I just bought a "mystery" hellebore that was mislabeled and in the wrong section of the garden centre. Can't wait! :)

    1. Oh how exciting - you will be on tenterhooks until it flowers :) I imagine that it may have been a bargain if the label had come adrift.

  7. What a beauty. Was it a chance seedling or did you arrange its parent' s marriage?

    1. The seed came from Ashwood Nurseries Chloris so my role as a match maker was completely non-existent :)

  8. It is very rewarding to grow something as lovely as that from seed. Sign of a true gardener.

  9. That is a beautiful colour Anna - have you bred a new hellebore? Are you going to give her a name?

    1. No would that I had Cathy - my role was confined to sowing the seed and nurturing the offspring. I would have called it 'Anna's Red' but that name is already taken :)
