My Second Home

P IS FOR ?

"How luscious lies the pea within the pod."
~ Emily Dickinson

MY ALLOTMENT PLOT which is my second home during the warmer months. It is where I grew some perfectly podded peas - the first pickings were in June.

Please have a peek at ABC Wednesday, where there will be plenty more posts all pertaining to the letter P.

  10. You plot sounds like a wonderful place. Do you grow the marrowfat peas used in mushy peas? So help me, I love mushy peas (which, incidentally is SO not known in the US!).

  14. Oh, childhood memories!! I used to steal the peas from the plants in Grandad's vegetable garden! He knew, of course, so it wasn't really stealing, but my mother used to tell me off, saying there wouldn't be any left for dinner!

Ah, but there's nothing quite like raw peas straight out of the shell, and fresh from the plant, is there? Nice one!

  15. Put them in the Pot.

I love really fresh peas, all the sugars intact. Perfect!

  16. All kinds of peas were so much a part of my childhood. I loved being in the garden with my father, although I admit he did most (all) the work. Nice memory.
