Peeking Over The Fence

Y IS FOR?

YELLOW! - there were lots of enjoyable opportunities to peek into other people's allotments on our recent holiday. Here a vivid splash of colour from some most attractive looking courgettes. I would have liked to meet the plot holder to ask what variety they were and to have found out was lurking in that green bin but there was nobody about to ask.

If you would like to find out more about the letter Y you should visit ABC Wednesday post haste.

  1. Fun post! I enjoy looking at other allotments. Some little rodent is eating all of the lettuce in ours, my makeshift mesh fence isn't working at all.

  11. I'm growing yellow courgettes for the first time this year. I'm looking forward to seeing if they taste different to the green ones. I'm always drawn to other people's allotments and love to see what they're growing.

  16. I'm growing both yellow and green courgettes this year, but the green ones are doing really badly - only had one so far and all the rest of the flowers are male. The yellow ones however are doing really well. Win some, lose some I guess

  17. They look rather like 'Soleil', which I grew in pots last year and have on the plot this year. Delicious as well as pretty, but more prone to blight than the green ones I am growing.
