Named after one of our royals? How brilliant. Lovely flower too!

ReplyDeleteABC Wednesday~Q
Gorgeous tulips with unusual and beautiful coloring. There are so many types of tulips, but I never saw this one before. I'm glad you posted it.
ReplyDeleteAnna, I think I see a tropical sunset glowing in those petals :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
What a gorgeous tulip (may I ask where the bulbs came from?) If tulips were edible, I would grow them massed down all the borders.
ReplyDeleteSuch an unusual mix of colours. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery clever use of 'Q' Anna!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tulip worthy of its name.
Off to catch up with your Malvern post now.

Many thanks for all your comments. ABCers - will be over to visit you soon.
ReplyDeleteI got the bulbs in the Crocus half price sale Wild Somerset Child but they were also in the Avon Bulbs catalogue. Have also seen them on sale at our local garden centre in the past. They have now been out in flower for nearly three weeks so I am most pleased with them.
I recognised these tulips immediately, because I have some too! Mine are a little more orange than yours, but most definitely 'Princess Irene'. I planted them in memory of my own princess, Renie, my lovely therapy dog who was lost to us just over a year ago. I also have a day lily called 'Renie's Delight'. It hasn't bloomed yet because I got it as a single fan, very young plant. I look forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThank you - your lovely picture touched my heart.
Spellbinding. I've never seen a tulip with so much glory!
ReplyDeleteA tulip Queen (or still a princess) beautiful !
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful tulips; exquisite colour!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
