O IS FOR ?
OUR TOWN'S CANAL!
O.K - I know that this is stretching it a bit but for some reason O has been bamboozling me. The old grey matter does not seem to be functioning well this week. The canal in question is the Bridgewater Canal and is about ten minutes walk from home. It is a pleasant spot for a gentle stroll, with colourful boats and canal barges to be admired from the towpath.
This is my post for this week's ABC Wednesday where you can see oodles of interpretations on the letter O .

I have always wanted to travel along those canals - now more than ever!
ReplyDeletePS Thank you for the nice comment.
O stumped me for awhile, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful canal with the boats ready to go out.
Interesting pictures and place. Braveheart looks like a fun way to see the sights.
ReplyDeleteMuch more tranquil to walk alongside than in a canal boat. The only thing I can remember from our canal boat trip years ago on the Oxford Canal was the constant thump thump of the engine intersperced with low flying planes from the many air force bases nearbye.
ReplyDeleteA pleasant spot to walk along, indeed, according to your lovely photos !
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll spend good holidays in France, especially in Cherbourg.
Some weeks I struggle, too, with thinking of a word for the ABC post. I'm glad this gave you a chance to show your local canal and the barges--very picturesque!
ReplyDeleteI have been catching up on some of your more recent posts (I've haven't had much time for blogging lately) and have enjoyed seeing everything that is growing in your garden. I am glad to see your theory about planting seeds--usually the more time I spend on them and the more I nurture them, the less they are apt to grow:)
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI would say this is an "O". Beautiful photos! I must be very relaxing taking a walk here! Have a great day!!

That does indeed look like a nice place for a stroll. And bamboozled has two Os in it, so you're good! :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the canal...beautiful and peaceful...
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot about towpaths and those riverboats! They look so colourful and inviting. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteOh, to be out on the water in the open! It's a very serene scene, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteDo you have your own boat?
Oh, my. I think I'd love to live in the boat...
ReplyDeleteOh I do love canals! For some reason I always find O a tad tricky for ABC too.
ReplyDeleteCanals always remind me of fishing trips when I was young.
ReplyDeleteEndless posibilities for container gardening on those barges!
Rob
I've never been on a canal boat yet - they look so adventurous and pleasant, I should add it to my list of 'things I'd like to do'!!
