'New Dawn'
'When the bee comes to your house, let her have beer;
you may want to visit the bee's house some day.'
~ proverb from the Congo
The first flowers have just opened on my 'New Dawn' rose, where this fine fellow was enjoying bathing in yesterday's evening sunshine.

Hi Anna~~ What a sweet picture. Indeed, the roses are beautiful right now. I have to be careful to stay on the road as I drive and gawk and want to stop and get a picture but think better of it when a teenager hits me with an unwelcome burst of reality: "they're just plants." Okay, to the untrained eye, maybe but to those of us who love them, they're so much more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely rose. I like the proverb too! I'm trying to attract bees by leaving unmown areas of clover etc - but I haven't left any beer out for them yet!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture! He looks very happy there.

New Dawn is such a delicate pink and lovely rose. The breen foliage is also a lovely shade and luxurious.
