Fancy A Spot Of Gentle Digging?

Z IS FOR?

ZANY!

There was some rather zany sculpture to admire, including this rather large shocking pink fork, when we visited Sudeley Castle, in the summer of 2008.

Why don't you zigzag over to ABC Wednesday for more on the letter Z !

  1. This is not a style of art I would probably include in my own garden, but it's so much fun seeing it in others'. What a contrast to the castle and the otherwise formal garden! A fun post, Anna!

  2. I have to agree with Rose, a fun, terrific shot, but I think I'll pass on having one in my garden. But it does catch your attention, doesn't it! Have a good week and enjoy!

  6. I love the fork, I have a few old painted tools around in my garden, but not as big as that one. I do love quirky thinga about though, something to shock and grab the attention.

  7. What a beautiful castle, somehow the pink pitchfork is something unexpected! It makes a fun photo.

  9. Very zany to have a modern pink fork outside a very ancient castle.

  10. Oh, my goodness - imagine that. A pink fork in such a place. Great shot!

  11. Delightful! Not for the small, personal garden - but perfect in a large public space and adds a pop of the unexpected in such a pastoral setting. It has "chutzpah" :)

  13. Anna girl .. it takes me forever to get anywhere ? ;-)
I love garden art and the funkier the better ? Now this giant fork would have been great last Spring when the decking company had a difficult time digging down to lay the concrete footings for the deck .. if I had whipped it out they would have been floored ? and that it is pink .. well, that is perfect !

  14. I'm with Rose - not something I'd want in my garden, but it's a lot of fun where it is!

  15. My first thought was that you draw the fork in Photoshop...
Lovely picture, but without a fork.

  16. I didn't see it at all at first glance, Anna. It does look like a very good drawing with the photo program. Cool! :-)

  17. It must be a very large person who needs a fork that big. Looks fun.

  19. I thought it was a drawing at first too. In a setting like that pretty much anything looks good!

  20. Suddenly Anna came to a fork in the garden ... path ...

  21. I love the sculptures on the grounds there--I like how the shovel has a lot of empty space so you don't see it right at first, and then, pow!, it's both out of place and just so right! :)

  22. I must be an old fudy dudy because I really think the fork spoils the whole picture. I must be the exception.
